For a mates university project. Hes got a project to make a device that locks a stand in place once a position is chosen, since some stands drift. If you've experienced this, would you be kind enough to take the survey? Thanks, on his behalf, in advance.

Done! :D
And there was I thinking I suffered from this because I was a cheapskate, perhaps not...
Although, I do have a bit of a nagging "it's funny, mic stands never used to do this back in the old days when I were a youngster..."
-
Also done, played a gig where a mic stand boom dropped a condenser mic onto my ride cymbal, not a nice sound.
Also being tall it's really awkward and unprofessional when a mic drops down to chest height and I have to crouch a bit to continue a song

Done :D
Mind it's a pain when you're playing guitar & singing at the same time & the stands starts to droop... It's happened at gigs before I get lower & lower to keep on singing.

I guess the solution would be a gnurled bit at the top of the vertical part... much like a boom stand on a drum kit has. Cymbals don't slowly slip down do they.

I've completed it too.

Thanks fellas.
