Hey guys, Looking for a replacement pup for my Charvel custom shop guitar. I have tried a Duncan custom 5 kinda flat/bassy and a Suhr SSH+ too bassy not enough bite. The Charvel is solid mahogany, natural finish with a maple neck, floyd trem etc. I love the Duncan 59 in the neck, just want more crunch out of the bridge pup. I'm into metal, classic rock and such. I've got my eye on the RY bridge thinking it might be the one to cut through this solid chunk of mahogany unlike the these other pups I have tried, any ideas/ opinions would be appreciated.

the nailbomb is the best replacement I can think for both SSH+ and custom 5, but it's a bassy and flat voiced pickup as well
if you don't have a problem with ceramics, the cold sweat might work for you
it's a pretty crunchy and bright pickup

Yeah Eric, I want to get away from those 2 pups characteristics. Wanting something with more sizzle and crunch. Both of those pups are high enough output Custom 5 14k/ SSH+ 16.5k, niether have made the guitar sing like I know it can. The mahogany is just soooo dense I was thinking something with less bass and more upper mid voiced might do the trick. I tend to lean towards V magnets as opposed to ceramics but not out of the question for sure! I like modern with a vintage bite which is what got me thinking the RY's.

Rebel Yell (tweak height for the sweet spot), Cold Sweats and maybe even Blackhawks.

Might have to look in on those Blackhawks. Soundclips are promising! RY soundclips are sweet too!
