.... you take ages to finish anything - then two come together at the same time!!!
Been a bit difficult to get anything done for the last year or so due to 2 changes in career and a new baby being born
It has literally been over a year since i finished my last guitar build (although i have done a few resto's in that time) - i was starting to feel a bit like PhillyQ - now i have 2 fender style hybrids entering their final lap at roughly the same time

The Wezo-Sonic
This one is a mix of the different duo-sonic designs. So its the mustang/duo-sonic2 offset body shape with a pick guard modelled after the duo-sonic1, control layout spaced out a bit more for strat style volume swellability - but its all ended up a bit more like a late 70's Music Master - although i would say its a fair bit cooler than that ;)
Stratele
i have been waiting to use this bit of english walnut for a while - there was some debate about covering it with a black scratchplate, but i think it works better than it would without. Its mostly a strat body shape, about 1/4" shorter and with tele upper bout. Allparts strat neck veneered with walnut on the headstock and recarved to a V into C profile - cut down tele bridge, TSS pickup and custom control layout
and an awesome oil and wax finish!!!

i wonder who would like something like that... ;)

Especially the strattele is a beauty! I would want that one!
-
Very nice guitars, I like both. 8)

I like 'em both too - "wonky" Fender-style designs (was it AndyR who started that description?) are really appealing to me at the moment, there are so many possibilities and an awful lot of them work. :D
Love the oil finish, love the brass-saddle bridges!
-
wonky  i think they might be called 'offset body' ;) anyway, i like those shapes alot too. they have a more fresh and modern look i think
-
Love the Stratele. That walnut is awesome.
-
Great job Wez. I particularly like the Stratele.

Yeah, I think Andy was referring specifically to the offset shapes - I'm using it to mean anything other than a straight-up Strat or Tele!

Awesome work Wez!
I love the Stratele! :D
+1 :)
-
Awesome love both. Though especially the Stratele, but then I would think that ;)
-
Yeah, it's the offest shapes I dubbed "wonky" the other day  (outside of Fenders, for some reason I see a Firebird as wonky but not an Explorer - I think it's because I can "see" the implied symmetry in the missing bits on an Explorer).
Anyway, these two are mighty fine. And I actually prefer the Wezo-Sonic  (The walnut, though pretty, doesn't quite grab me)
Congrats on getting going again :D

This thread makes me want to buy a stratele.

Is there a double decker coming along too? These look great Wez. I was speaking with both the owners and they can't wait to get them.
-
the double neck is progressing - for a while its seemed like 1 step forward, 2 back - but i think we are past all that now and its starting to feel like positive progress again!!!
