I just picked up my new Bravewood strat. It's an Ice Blue Metallic 67 with a bound neck and custom Bare Knuckle 67 Strat pickups.

It has amazing aging - look at the cracking here

Another nice view

It is more subtle in real life and is also extensive, the headstock has it too, as does the back. It is really like the real cracking on my 1963 Burgundy Mist.

Very nice.
I would have never have thought a bound neck would look so good on a strat. It really does though! :o
-
+1 basically :)

Awesome!

That looks killer. Just B-E-A-utiful!!! :D

I just knew I shouldn't have stopped in for a peek.... I'd absolutely love a Bravewood! 8)

OOOOOFFF.................bad ass (I must stop watching american cop shows)
:D :D :D :D :guitar4:

Nice one :D
I'm the same as Afghan Dave on the bound neck. I don't really go for bound necks (even the Gibsons I own don't have them)... but even though I read it, I didn't really notice it at first on the pics of this one!

That looks fantastic Phil.

I've been trying not to open this thread. I couldn't resist.
Lovely jubbly.

very tasteful, especially the bound neck. 8)

stunning!

Very nice Phil. I'd love a Bravewood Strat too :)

Thanks everyone. This was one that I've been thinking about for a while. It has a brass trem block and the big CBS headstock. I don't know which of these affects it most, but it has great sustain. John hadn't used this colour before but it came out great. I think he might use it on some more, though I think it is a CBS colour.

I knew whose thread this must be when I saw the title! :D
Looks great, and I think I like the bound neck - a touch of Eric Johnson!
-
That's a fantastic strat!
-
brilliant :D

I'm not really a strat user and not really into that relic thing (I mean articifial relic - natural wear from year of use an abuse is something else) but these Bravewood are really something else. Nice guitar, enjoy !

That finish is awesome!

Phil, a "just curious" question:
Do you sell/trade many guitars, or does the collection just keep growing?

I keep meaning to sell some (I did let one go last year but bought 3 since then!). I've got rid of a couple of amps though :D

Oh, I know the feeling!
I think I sold as many as I bought in the last year or so, but I'd say there's still a gradual upward trend in my collection....

thats utterly delicious Phil. Great aging work, loving the binding and colour too!

I have yet to see a Bravewood guitar that is anything other than stunning and this one is no exception. The colour is glorious and, having let it sink in for a while, I do like the binding on the neck. Lovely.
If you could see your way to ordering an Olympic White, rosewood boarded Bravewood Strat, then getting bored with it and putting it on Seconds Out for a pittance I'd be ever so grateful.
