Finally!!
I'm so damn happy, his music means so much to me and the fact that he is rarely in the press mean that any news regarding him becomes 10x more exciting.
Does anyone else like John frusciante's music? Any excitement going around?
Damn, all his albums since "To Record Only Water For 10 Days" have been absolutely amazing.
Ok, I'll end this with a fun fact...
In the album "To Record Only Water For 10 Days" the Froosh actually did record only running water for 10 days and his it in the back of every track!
Ok,
My happy rant is over...
Discuss.

If you look at my avatar you might figure out that I'm a Frusciante fan. I do prefer much of his solo stuff to his RHCP stuff. Currently listening to The Empyrean and Shadows Collide With People.
All great stuff IMO. I think Carvel is one of my favourite tracks of his.

Oh, is that who it is?!
I'd often wondered who it was - originally I thought it was you
I don't know much about him - apart from he was the RHCP guitarist (and I know next to nothing about them as well!), a bit good, and that you were a fan of his... but I'd always thought the bloke in your avatar looked a bit "indie" for what I'd imagined of Mr Frusciante

I set it as my avatar so long ago that I now need to check it actually is him!

Just checked. Yep, it is him.
I think that is the first (and last) time that someone might think I am Fruscinate!
He does occasionally look a bit indie. He is very very good though. I think someone who was considered good enough to be in Frank Zappas band is going to be pretty handy!

Oh wait, I forgot to mention what the good news was...
He is releasing a new 5 song EP on July 9th called Letur Lefr and hopefully more to come afterwards!

I'd be interested to know how you did imagine him!
I like Frusciante, I think he's an extremely talented man, but not sure I'm a fan of his solo stuff. So I probably won't get to hear his new EP.

I like Frusciante's approach, especially his clean stuff.

Absolutely. Some of his most simple acoustic song that dont even have drums or bass are just so amazing. First one that comes to my head is "Anne" but I know that there are even better ones.
More news (Not as interesting, just another fun fact sorta thing): It's rumored to be the case that the albums name, "Letur Lefr", is named after him and his wife (Nicole Turley).
Letur = Le Turley = The Turley
Lefr = Le Frusciante = The Frusciante

I like most of his 'song' structured stuff, not too sure about his experimental/electronic side though.

Yup, carvel is a great track but I couldn't possibly name a favourite. Right now the track that I am listening to all the time is "One More Of Me", though. I can't get the thing that he does with his voice to sound like and old man out of my head. Also "The Worlds Edge" has been stuck in my head recently.
Whats your favourite album of his?
It's a pretty hard choice but I'll have to go with "Curtains" or "Inside Of Emptiness".
I love the Empyrean (which seems to be most people's favourite) but it's just a bit too "perfect sounding" to me. Too produced. I think I like his simplistic approach better, It really makes it seem homegrown and from his soul rather than as if he went to a major studio to get it done.
Anyway, there are just so many great songs on "Curtains" and Inside Of emptiness, despite being quite a short record, is just so great. I really like how he explores into the heavier side of things but still has some softer but emotionally heavy songs on it.
EDIT: WAYYYY TO MANY TYPOS IN THAT POST!
That's what happens when you type on your phone.
Anyway, fixed (I hope).

I think Curtains is my favourite of his. IMO it is consistently good throughout, "The Past Recedes" being my favourite track from it.
