Does anyone know if BKP has ever made any humbucker in singlecoilsize, a la hot/cool rails?
-
Not any they've sold to the public, that I'm aware of. The general consensus on them is that they don't sound as good as humbuckers or single coils and Tim doesn't want to compromise on sound.
-
^ I think Tim doesn't like them, he says the tone isn't as good as either a humbucker or a single coil. I wouldn't expect to see him making any, if his posts on the subject are anything to go by!
The sinner looks fantastic, though, if you want that kind of metal sound in a single (or even a triliogy)- it's not noiseless though, you'd probably want an ISP decimator noise gate to go with it.
I haven't tried it, though, I'm just going by soundclips.

No.
Tim does not like them because they don't sound like a good HB or a good SC. I was a rail user for years until I got my first true BK single coil. Now I really don't like em at all.

Cool! 1st time I've ever seen 3 posts delivered in the same minute!!

^ i know! this is like the busiest thread ever (in terms of response time, not total responses)!

Like everyone's said, we don't do rail/humcancelling single coils at all but we do make a mightly hefty Strat coil called the Sinner which will give most humbuckers a run for their money whilst still retaining that true single coil tone.

Thanks guys (and Tim), that really answers my question.
