Title: cool guitar, weird lock nut

i've seen one of these on ebay before, maybe the same one!  but i never noticed the very strange string clamp.  i always thought the Kahler string clamp was a much less elegant solution than the Floyd Rose locking nut, but at least it looked like it worked.  i can't figure out how this thing works at all!

I saw that guitar on eBay the other day!  One man's cool is another man's.... WTF?  :P

It looks like there's just an individual clamp for each string?  I seem to remember the clamp with the Washburn Wonderbar being quite similar looking.

If I was ever going to put a Kahler on another guitar nowadays, I'd just buy a Floyd locking nut and use that.

well, yes, i think this guitar lies in that strange zone somewhere between awful and awesome :)

i agree entirely, i'd just use a Floyd nut too.

FWIW it looks like Lita Ford's signature guitar is using a regular nut with a lock behind it, similar arrangement.
