Title: Partsocaster Progress
Post by: Copperhead on May 26, 2012, 06:18:12 AM
K - I was going to do the body like a Gibson VooDoo, but when I got the effect to work right on my swamp ash test piece, seeing the red and black and the kinda pointy guitar, all I could think was "Lita Ford".... loll
So I did the grain fill orange-y yellow and played with adjusting a rosewood WB dye to match the neck, Tru-Oil over the top.
Started putting it together tonight... What do you think so far?

I think it looks really good and, because it's not such an obviously Explorer-y finish I think it helps tie it together with the neck and headstock. More pics please!

I'm not a big fan of explorer-style guitars, but it looks mighty fine.

That looks awesome! Looks like a darker Ken Lawrence IMO.
