Finally, after NINE MONTHS of waiting, my Bogner 2x12 has arrived :D Woohoo! I didn't think I'd like the V30s but they sound soooooo good in this cab they're staying put. My favourite amp ever just got even better - I didn't think that was possible :o

And in other news, I picked up an ex-demo 65 Amps London Pro a few weeks ago for rehearsals and gig backup (hence the recent sale of my Orange Dual Terror). I was after a Heritage G12H 55Hz for my 65 Amps 2x12 (to replace the stock Anniversary 75Hz G12H) when a brand new 1x12 cab with one fitted appeared on eBay. Only £50 more than the speaker alone, so a complete no brainer and I picked it up last weekend. One speaker swap later, and the G12H Anniversary is now in the 1x12 - the 65 Amps cab now sounds epic. Fan-bloody-tastic!
One completed #1 rig and a new rehearsal rig sorted within a week. Nice! Time to sell my old 2x12 and Martamp half stack........

Bogner quarter stack looks very smart Dave :)

Wow, just awesome! Can't wait to hear them 8)

Cheers guys - the Bogner sounds amazing. Even Mrs Twinfan commented on it :D
Don - I gave it a good run through with the Modern Eagle, just for you ;)
Here are the 65s with the matching cab:

Me much likey now I wouldnt mind puttin me Les Paul through that lot :D

I must admit, looks-wise, I'd be a lot happier standing in front of that lot (the practice rig)... I suspect most punters who aren't gearheads won't know the name "Bogner", so the in-yer-face lettering could raise a few muffled titters
However, I have a good idea of the sounds you go for, and I imagine them as being fairly close to what I like... so, if it's having that effect on you playing through it, I don't think I'd actually care too much what that the punters thought about the looks! :D

Didn't know you had a zilla!
-
excellent! :D :o

Congrats!

I don't give a flying $% about what the punters think - if it sounds awesome that's good enough for me!

Read the post - I've only just got it ;)
It's not a bad cab - especially for the price I paid! I'm not a fan of 1x12s as they don't have a lot of thump to the tone, but it's good enough for rehearsals as it's easy to move about!

Killer rig, Dave, just killer!!! :D

what about a compact 2x12? the roadkill badger i have is almost as easy to move around as the 1x12 cab i have (because of the side handles), and sounds really good. I think zilla does a compact 2x12 as well.
might be worth considering if you really dislike 1x12s...

Impressive stuff! :D
Is all this gear in your flat "down South", Dave? You must be getting almost as short of space as I am! :P

My THD-style 2x12 is compact, and even with Celestion Golds it sounds "small". Big cabs seem to equal big tone to my ears.

Cheers Phil :) The '65 Empire quarter stack is in the flat, the rest is back home where I can turn it up loud enough to hear it

Next time my neighbours invite me over to turn my amp up loud I'll let you know!
I'd like to the the London at some point - "small" amps are the way to go for me.
-
The London is a lot cleaner than the Empire at lower volumes - it has less preamp gain. Sounds great wound up at rehearsals though :)

yeah that's what i sorta assumed before i got this one. However... i am running it with the back off (as i have american-voiced speakers). Maybe it would sound smaller if i closed the back. :? I definitely thought it sounded better with the back off, but i just assumed that was because i had american-voiced speakers which tend to go in open-backed cabs.

Ah my bad, to be honest I only flick through the forum these days and spend more time looking at fashion
