Ok. So i got my Ibby RGD7320 a while ago and i'm going to switch out the stock pickups for a pair of aftermaths.
I want to get a covered set because i prefer the look...
My question though: WILL THEY FIT IN THE GUITAR?!
I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to guitars and switching hardware (im a drummer) so i was wondering if any of you could help?
ANY help would be MUCH appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi and welcome!
You are lucky as once a day I am trying to be nice towards a skin beater too =) (sorry had try and get that out of my system).
Ok, to move on, you should be absolutly fine switching the PUs. Covers look bigger, but they actually will fit just like uncovered PUs. And since the Ibanez is loaded with passives already and not actives there are not other problems I can think of as well.
I see no reason you should not be able to fit and love the AMs in that axe. Just donīt forget to not hit them with a stiq...if they are not battleworn already.
Cheers!

Hey Kiichi! :D
Thanks for the reply brother! I have been warned in the past that since BKP are the only manufacturer that make covered 7's that they can be a tight fit/not fit at all in some guitars... I'm just being very cautious. Don't want to buy amazing pickups, get excited, get them and find they don't fit! haha.

Quiet understandable!
I have not heard that warning before....neither do I have any covered 7 strings though, so in case there might be a grain of truth in that rumor you might wanne see if someone else will chime in (or drop a short line to the BKP guys directly), just to be sure.

Being a strictly 7-string player with lots of BKPs I thought I'd chime in!!lol
I think you'll be ok with the RGD7320.
I have had a few plastic pickup rings that covered 7-string BKP are very tight in, so I've had to file away some of the inside edge of the plastic pickup ring for it to fit, but I think RGD7320's dont have pickup rings anyway, so I think thats irrelevant!?!
And there have been times when I've had to file away the corners of the pickup mounting ears (the part of the baseplate of the pickup that the screws go through to screw the pickup into the guitar) if the guitar has tight triangular shaped holes for them, but it looks like the RGD7320 has square holes for those so I think you'll be ok :)
If anything, its highly unlikely that a pickup wont fit at all, it might just need a bit of filing if its tight (in my experience anyway).
Hope it all works out for you - maybe we could hear from someone with an RGD to be certain.
(and I flippin love my aftermath 7's, hope you love them too)

It still might be worth dropping BKP an email just in case they've heard of anything like this before, as Kiichi suggested :)

Yeah, the BKP team obviosuly knows what's up. But it doesn't sound like cause for concern.

I had to file out the scratchplate of my Fender HSS when I installed a coverd VHII. Not too much hassle though.

This will probably help.
I don't know about the rgd but the covered riff raff 7 set fits my arz307 routing and rings perfectly. No irreversible work needed.
