Well as some of you may remember I was struggling to find work and asking about courses etc
However that didn't go too well because it was going to cost so much money. So I kept applying for places and never got any replies, I had 2 interviews and didn't get those and I gave up hope. After 5 years without a full time job, it gets very very difficult to stay positive.
Then last Monday I got a call from an uncle to help him out with some gardening as his friend let him down and desperately needed some one. So I went along and done a good job and he was so impressed that he had a word with his boss.
I then get a call Wednesday that he had a word with his boss and that there's a permanent job available for me starting Thursday. So I went along and worked the last 2 days doing gardening and maintenance for customers houses etc.
I spoke with the boss and I'm now in full time employment, good pay for a starter (I'm on more than my Fiance who's a store manager for shoe company), good holiday and sick pay and a nice christmas bonus. On top of that it's Monday to Friday and I'm home by 5:30 in the evening. I'm also enjoying to work as I've liked gardening anyway and I've been proud of the work I've done.
It's been a very hard time for the Fiance and me as we're getting married in December and we'd really like to buy our own flat. We've got a big enough deposit but my work situation meant that it wouldn't be possible. Now we can finally start looking to really do it. :D
So, any guitar plans because of this? Well I'm going to get my Strats fretboard reshaped in a couple of weeks and I think I'm going to take it to Jonathan (Feline Guitars). I've been wanting it done for quite a while.

Well done Steve! Good news. :D
(Gotta say, the idea of doing gardening all day - even if I was being paid for it - is a personal nightmare of mine! )

Great stuff. After two years unemployed I got a two jobs - one intermittent and one permanent part time - off the back of a chance phonecall recently, too! Doesn't half take a lot of the mind.
Now just try and siphon some away from boring real-life stuff like weddings and homes!

Congratulations- sounds like a result -getting paid to do something you enjoy.
-
Congrats! Good to get rid of financial worries.

nice one, big thumbs up PDT_003
speaking of gardening, I've turned into a bit of a gardening nut in recent years - I can't go to the supermarket without bringing some kind of plant or bag of seeds back. Its getting serious too, I ran out of space at my digs, so I've turned over a section of my girlfriend's back garden and planted some veg :D
