Title: PC RECORDING ADVICE PLEASE!!!!!!

Hi guys, i bought myself one of these off e bay

Now the plan is to use this with a soundcard/audio interface. I want something with a usb connection that can accept a guitar lead. The line would be Guitar, into korg, into soundcard/interface. Does anyone know of any makes or models, i have only seens this m audio before

and its £70. I was hoping for something a lot simpler and cheaper.

Well what you could do is get a 1/4" to 1/8" adaptor plug, then run that from the output of the Korg, to the Mic socket on your soundcard. Thats what I do with my V-Amp 2 (pretty similar) and get some good recorded tones. Then to record just download Audacity, its a simple free program.

Thanks tom, thats a great idea. i might try that and if the sound card is cr@p i can upgrade - i imagine it will be - it's stock on the pc. I also downloaded audacity - thanks for that!

if you want a really cool interface between you your guitar and your p.c, go for a Tascam us-122. Really cool. :D

I like the M-Audio products.  I've only heard good things about the Fast Track but I've never used one.  I use an M-Audio 1010-LT but you ideally you need to connect it to a mixer.

The thing you need to watchout for is the amount of latency.  M-Audio's all have low latency.  If latency gets too high you'll have problems playing along to stuff already recorded.

ok, thanks guys - this is helping a lot. I noticed an m audio jam lab - £50 - purely for guitar and you get some amp model/effect programme as well, maybe worth a try.

I am not suggesting that you do this for a second...but there a lot of ways to download top amp modeling programs for.......evaluation purposes (cough cough) :?  I am still trying to make up my mind about some now!!! Go with the us122.
