I got the Painkillers pups on my Gibson Les Paul studio and PRS Tremonti treble on my Les Paul Standard. Looking to replace (upgrade) the Tremonti treble to a Bare Knuckle pups. My question is: should I go with the Painkiller or get something else? My style is Alter Bridge, Breaking Benjamin, Evanescence, with low drop tuning (drop C#)
Thanks!

ceramic nailbomb might work
if you don't bother about the focused and narrow low end, the aftermath or the painkiller will do the tremonti job
even the miracle man will, but the prs tremonti is way middier
my bandmate had a tremonti in his mccarty that he swapped for a cold sweat and then a miracle man
they are both less middy and not as high output, but they're clearer, more defined, less self-saturated and clean up much better
we play in drop C# and a similar style, by the way

For a les paul, Tim usually recommends a Painkiller (Bridge) and Cold Sweat (Neck) combo, which is what i had installed in my Jap LP. Really solid combo and tracks intricate riffs really well and the CS has a cool clean tone for "Broken Wings" type passages

I think when I first purchase a BKP someone from the company (Tim maybe?) suggested Painkillers for the bridge. Maybe I'll go that route again.
Thanks!

if you already got a painkiller, you could try something different for a change

If you do want to go for something different, I'd reccomend the Miracle Man in the bridge.
