Judging by the picture on this site, the country boys seem to come relic-ed, but I've seen stock pictures on other sites that make them seem, well, not :) I was just wondering if anyone who has a set of them on here could help me out, as I'd like to know before I buy them, since my guitar isn't relic-ed and I think a set of vintage looking pick ups may clash :) Much appreciated, J.

Mine were not.

I don't think any BKPs come reliced as standard - it's an extra-cost option.

Yeah I think the pics on the site are just there to show you all the different options you can get on their pickups.

Since we're on the subject of Country Boys, I'm pondering on a set of pickups for a Thinline Tele - extremely light swamp ash body, maple neck, vintage ('70s) style hardware.
For some reason I have it in my head that low-output pickups would be best for a Thinline. Would CBs fit the bill?

I would say so Philly. I haven't tried other BKP sets and so wouldn't like to promote them over another set but I think the low output route would be a good way to go. And, of course, my enjoyment of CB's remains and if anything, I've grown to love them even more in that I seem to have settled on the Tele as my main gigging guitar for the last year or so and that is a tribute to the flexibility of the CB's. They have the lovely classic Tele tones with a lovely warmth to them. Then you can crank things up nicely and they will deliver.

That sounds good to me - my favourite Tele sounds are those sweet, round tones you can get in the neck and middle positions, much more than the clangy bridge pickup tone. Thanks Steve. :)
