Does anyone have BKP in a tele :?: Would like to hear about them if you do. amazing Phil did you get the rest of your tele yet :?:

Not yet, all I need to do is sort the payment out and I'm set. I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out though. I got charges I didn't anticipate springing up in the form of my bank wanting a bit for the money order and import duty etc. Still cheaper than a Fender custom shop or something though.

Duty is a 4 letter word, I had to pay some of that on my pickups, but it was worth it. I'd like to know what some of the tele pickups are capable of. Kind of curious about the piledrives myself. Keep me posted on the tele, looking forward to hearing that one.

I have Piledrivers fitted in my Fender "JD" Tele - but this isn't exactly like a normal Tele, with its 5 way switching and the Strat style neck p/up. I have to say that I am very impressed with the improvement over the SD Broadcaster/SD Vintage for Strat combination that I had in there before the BKs.
I'll do an A/B test against my 1969 Tele - which is 100% original Fender - and report back later

Very cool 8) How versatile are the piledrivers? A tele with the right pickups can really scream. I think the tele is an often overlooked, and underestimated guitar, probably the association with country music.

There was a Tele with the Boss bridge with a Stormy Monday neck at LGS. It sounded really great. I have a couple of Tele's that I might play with. I will leave my 62 stock as I love it's sound, however I picked up a 57 that had lost it's originals to a set of SD's. I am going to put a Boss set into this. I also have a Warmoth with a SD broadcaster and a neck H/B (I think it is a Pearly Gates). I am going to replace this set with a Yardbird or Brown Sugar bridge and Stormy Monday neck.
Of course I have to wait a bit for this, I have a strat, LP Special and LP waiting for pickups first
Cheers
Phil

I have 2 teles with BKPs in and have fitted others.
The Boss is amazing - kind of even does Heavy Metal (although not as much as the piledriver would)- got that paired up with a mule in the neck.
I have a Brown sugar and that sounds just a tele should - does a really mean Led Zep 1 sound ( I have a Riff Raff in tghe neck of that and I like it very much.

Wich one of the BKP Tele neck pickups gives the best RATM tone?
