Guys, I'm looking at putting some BKPs into my guitar. I confess I'm a BKP virgin.
I'm playing a custom EGC aluminium guitar. (The neck # is very low 200's for any EGC nerds who maybe lurking out there.) The pickups I currently have in it are the standard hand wound hot humbuckers as provided.
It's a through-neck construction and despite the guitar having a wood body the pups (and the bridge in fact,) are mounted into the aluminium neck so you get a very interesting "fast" sound.
Anyway I predominantly play high gain, heavy music, ranging from all out thick, stoner sludge through to techy scooped death metal measured by how many pinches you can pull out per second. I'm looking at getting a set of really hot pups which will push my amp even harder into ridiculous sustain and harmonic overtones.
What would you guys suggest? The guitar naturally has a tendency towards a very harsh bright high end simply due to the nature of it being an aluminium build so I'm leaning towards some pups which really makes the middle and lower ranges sing.
Did this make any sense? What do you think?

Mhh I have been interrested in alu-guitars for a while now...but you never find some to try.
Having no actual experience with this kind of axe and only going from what I have heard and imagine for you the best option would be a A-Pig (alnico warpig). Though the C-Pig is also possible I would say alnico cause it is smoother in the top.
Itīs hot, made for high gain. Also it is pretty darn fat, growly and smooth and round in the high end. That should counteract the aluminium perfectly I imagine and give you a nice sound.
Crushing for stoner sludge and death metal. Plus you get nice cleans too should you ever need them.

I kinda like a Black Dog for this. It might not seem heavy enough for your application at first, but I think it'll handle it well.

Also possible, but he would probably have to add a boost to the pedal board for that to work as he wishes.

Since the guitar is probably not incredibly resonant, I would go for a warm high output brute as the Warpig as well.
