Title: The Treatment
Post by: TheyCallMeVolume on July 28, 2012, 03:04:03 PM
Hey guys, I saw Motley Crue and Kiss last night, and they put on a great show. The opening band was called The Treatment, and they actually really kicked ass. Just wanted to know if anyone else here knows about them, and if not, I'd definitely take a look at their stuff, they have some real awesome rock.

Sounds good on first listen, reminds me of Airbourne.

Cool, I had heard of Airbourne before, good band, very reminiscent of AC/DC to me.  I'm just glad that there are bands like these bringing back rock to what it should be.

I know of the Treatment
Young band , and have a good vibe about them

Drummer is the son of Laurie Mansworth , who was in More an Airrace, as well as being the manager/power behind Hurricane Party/Roadstar in their formative years.

Yeah, sounds good, if a little familiar!

They've obviously got some nice little endorsement deals with Yamaha and Blackstar.

Here's me thinking they just really liked Blackstar and Yamaha

I'm not a fan of the Blackstar stuff, have yet to play (or hear) one of their amps that I liked - the build quality always looks and feels cheap and plasticy (a new word, bagsie TM).

Very true about the Blackstar stuff, everyone talks so highly about them but I never got it. Anyways, that sponsorship must have gone the way of the wind recently, cuz they were all playing through Marshall stacks. Doing it the right way!

yep, Marshall posted pictures on their facebook page of the Treatment, just about to go on tour with Kiss and Motley Crue, with their YJM100 half stacks.  so presumably an endorsement.  owning a YJM, and having played a few Blackstars, i personally think they made the right choice :)

Laurie always seems to have a knack of getting good sounding amps.

He had Hurricane Party using Cornell Plexi 45/50s and they sounded great every time.

Something about that old reliable recipe that does the trick.

As ever laurie asked me about an endorsement for the band, and I was keen , but couldn't afford to give away guitars although I would have cut them a great deal but I think band finances were limited prior to the tour. Shame really.

A few years ago I played a few music workshops with one of the guitarists (Ben) - he was very good then, even at the age of 15 or so...

I see him about once a year in the local pub with his parents.

Ian and Twinfan - he is from Tadley, just up the road!

Great stuff, I'd definitely go and see them. Good guitar work as well - sustain!!!!vibrato!!!!! not the customary barrage of 'how many notes can I cram in here'.

Yeah - biut we might be able to do something after this tour if they haven't jumped into bed with Gibson by then ....

I would find it hard to believe they would have struck anything up with Gibson (actually vice-versa) yet. I hope it works out for you, that would be great!

John, saw on your Facebook page you're doing some work for the boys. Getting a deal done with them?

It would be really nice to do something - nice bunch of guys.
Loving the songs - saw the band play in Camden and loved it - felt like I was 18 again as they sounded similar to many of the bands I liked then ( ACDC, Def Leppard, Heavy Pettin).

I think they'll do well given half a chance - they popped down on Monday and spent a few hours chez Feline.
Think they rather like my guitars (and they like to fly the flag for all things British) so maybe there is a chance.

They were fitting a Black Dog to a Les Paul Custom and I fitted some BKP 550k pots and some Jensen caps too....
