And wait for 'they only admitted guilt because they were forced to do so in order to settle and avoid a lengthy, expensive courtcase with the anti-American, socialist Obama administration'.
To SS.org, where the Republicans will make for great reading!

"sigh"
it's all a bit sad, and i don't think either side showed much sense. hopefully this'll be the end of it and everything will be done properly from now on.
i do wonder about the seized wood. it may have been harvested illegally, but surely it would be immoral to just destroy it?
-
Well Gibson aren't claiming it back, and as it was obtained illegally then it can't be used. I guess it'll be burnt :(

Yeah, I don't know quite what to make of the whole situation but I think I agree with you. :|

Get ready for another Gibson price increase!
-
As long as this results in a line of all Ash og Alder Gibsons with Maple necks and fretboards, I might be willing to forgive Henry Douchekiwitch for being such a tw@t about it.

did any of those ever actually make their way out into the wild before they were quietly shuffled into the "oops" folder?
-
I don't think they did. May not have got past the prototype stage?
-
^ the prototype stage? is there much to be prototyped about a strat?
-
apparently they are getting the wood back, at least some of it
An important part of the settlement is that we are getting back the materials seized in a second armed raid on our factories and we have formal acknowledgement that we can continue to source rosewood and ebony fingerboards from India, as we have done for many decades

Exactly. I'd like a Fender SG very much, actually.

It's also plain to see what Henry's political views are. A wonder he didn't run for president for the tea party.

I heard from an industry source (bloke in PMT) that Gibson Custom Shop prices are to go up by 5% soon. Has anyone else heard anything about where Gibson prices are going in the next 12 months? I've got a few Custom Shop guitars that I want to sell, I can't help but be curious about where prices will go in the future.
-
Rang Gibson today about price increases, actually. At this stage no planned costs increases at trade.
-
Times like this, a man's just got to resort to Photoshop and puerile humour.

Someone on another forum has suggested a suitable punishment would be that be given to PRS to make single cuts with........

Genius idea!! Either that or make a giant stake out of some of the wood, tie Henry to it and do a Joan of Ark tribute gig on his ass..

 Love it!

That woud be good indeed!
-
Burning the stock would be heresy. Handing it over to PRS or another topbuilder would be an act of cheerio charity.

No, they were in production. I've got pictures somewhere of stacks of bodies and necks.
