Hey guys.
Just thought I'd post up pics of a guitar I got on Saturday afternoon:

(sorry about that last cr@ppy picture)
It's a Japanese Jackson DK2M with stock Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz.
It needs a new set of strings and a bit of attention for the crackly jack socket but apart from that it's pretty much good to go.
This is the 1st guitar I've had a JB in it where I've actually liked the sound. I'm still not sure what I'm doing about the pickups yet, thinking of changing them for a pair of Blackhawks, but I'm in no rush to change them just yet either.
Through my Quick Rod or ScLOne it's pretty much instant 80s :D I just need to try it with my G-Major as both of those amps are a bit dry on their own.

I totally love the sweet cuppin cakes sock!
And the guitar... If it wasn't a Jackson i'd bribe you with an amp to get it off you!
Totally my thing visually but I just can't get on with Jackson necks.
Now we need some stereo amp + NGD clips/Video.

I'm open to offers!
No video clips coming as I have no way of doing that. I could possibly do some audio though.

Nice catch! Superstrats with those pointy headstocks were the dogs bollocks in the eighties. I left the shop with a Jem77 FP. I'm totally away from those guitars, but they remember me of times with a lot of fun and bravoury.
-
I'm not really a fan of superstrats (as some may be aware), but the sharkfin inlays, pointy headstock and black binding do actually look good on an all-maple neck like that. :)
-
Cheers guys :D
I think it'll be getting it's 1st outing with me tomorrow night at band practice. I've been using the SLO with my Firebird w/Super Distortion so far but think I'll swap for this Jackson and the Splawn for a night to see how it goes.

Looks great Craig - I bet it rocks 8)

Tasty. I remember they did a version of the DK2M with a factory-fitted Sustainiac for a while, and I always wanted one. I think the black sharkfins look ace on the maple fingerboard. I really want a Sustainiac, and really don't want to mod any of my current guitars (partly because of routing and expense, and partly because I really like all my Bare Knuckle neck pickups).
A DK2M would be just the shred-tastic ticket (plus you pretty much have to have a Floyd with a Sustainiac).

I really like the look of maple jackson sharkfin fingerboards - very cool. 8)

That looks great! white, maple board, 24 frets, Floyd Rose, all those appeal to me :) i imagine it sounds magnificent through your Splawn

awesome :D Love white superstrats, and the japanese jacksons. Shame the factory has shut :(

they still are!

They are??? :?
Pointy headstocks aren't my thing, but happy NGD anyways :D

actually i probably prefer strat headstocks, but i'm not that worried. certainly superstrats are awesome :D
Also the jackson headstock (IMO) looks better in real life than it does in a pic.

Thanks for the posts guys :)
Tried it through my Splawn tonight and it was pretty cool. Could only use my 1x12 though so couldn't crank it too much. I think a pickup swap may be inorder at somepoint though!

Cool guitar, congrats
-
BTW, what was unexpected about it?
-
I'm liking that a lot

Cheers guys :D

I went to a local shop that'd currently changed premises just for a quick look round and there it was on the wall.
Most of the time I don't see much I'm too interested in, not meaning to sound snobby but alot of shops local to me only sell starter Strats etc, let alone anything I want to try or actually buy.

That is one tidy guitar sir!
