Title: Brown Sugars Fitted!
Post by: tim_miles on February 18, 2006, 10:18:58 PM
Heya Guys,

I had my Brown Sugars Fitted Today, I am happy with the sound at present but i havn't tweaked the pickup height myself, I know once i have done this it will sound Better. The Lower strings sound more muffled than they did before, but the pickup height is very close to the strings.

Could anyone Talk me through adjusting the height and which screws do you turn for the bridge pickup as there is 3. The sound of the pickups sound equal but slightly muffled so am going to Adjust them tomorrow, just need help on how to get the best sound for my Country/ Rock style Music.

Thanks Guys and thanks Very much Tim!

Sounds to me like you're way too close and the magnets are choking the strings, slowly adjust down until this stops and notes ring clear and true.

Thanks Tim,

i have been trying for the past hour to get the sound what i want out of both the Neck and the Bridge Pickup and still can't get it, all strings sound slightly muffled.

Is there a certain height rule that the pickup should ideally be from the High E and the Low E strings? because at the moment my guitar sounds terrible.

Both on Bridge and Neck. Any help would be awsome

thanks very much

You could check this out as a guide - text is impenetrable so you have to concentrate, but at least it gives measurements in imperial and metric.  In Fender terms Brown Sugars should be treated as Texas Specials for the purposes of the set up guide.

Of course you still need to tweak.....
