Hello, I'm in a Death Metal band that is tuned Drop A, and we play stuff inspired by the likes of Dying Fetus, Nile, Cryptopsy, Skinless etc. So a lot of low end, but with some high end of cutting solo's etc. Which pickup would you suggest for the job? I will be putting into an Ibanez GRG170DX if that helps.
I'm thinking BK Miracle Man/Painkillers, but any other suggestions are welcome, I just can't find valid demo's for the pickups in the genre I'm looking for.
Thanks a lot.

My fave death metal band is Autopsy. I have an Ibanez rga42 tund to C standard with A5 Warpig Neck and Ceramic Warpig bridge. It gets me the Autopsy tone I want played with an Orange Dark Terror. I don't know if this helps you at all. Autopsy are a bit more organic sounding than other death metal I always think. You might want something tighter.

Thanks for the input guys! As you probably know, picking the right pickup is hard work. Got to make it right.
Awesome work on those songs by the way!

A Nailbomb (alnico or ceramic) is very tight and very aggressive so will do what you want very well. The Warpig is darker and fatter for a really huge low end. The Painkiller is also a very tight pickup and is sometimes referred to as ice-picky while the Miracle Man is also tight but with a thicker and more organic tone.

Between MM and PK, I'd go MM. Also consider a Nailbomb, probably Ceramic for this.
