Title: Which one for Alder??
Post by: Klorell on September 20, 2012, 01:43:33 PM
Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a BKP to change my SD SH4 in my ESP custom shop (alder body, maple neck) and i can't make a choice between Nailbomb, MM or Warpig..

Anyone tested one of these pickups on alder?

I like to play stoner metal like Orange Goblin

For Stoner I'd take the Warpig.

i have all the pickups you have mentioned and, for what you want, the best pickup, undoubtely, is alnico warpig.
Nalibomb is organic , twested and thick, with really good cleans, mm is more compressed and with a full sound and really tight and the alico warpig is really fat, organic, dense, like a wall of sound and really beautifull to the ears. As well as that, it has great response in low frecuences and it will help you yo get a balance sound, very rich in terms of sound.

I agree with the warpig. Even so much I'll probably buy an alder guitar just for it.

I say warpig like the others. Should suit the wood of your guitar nicely.

Thank you guys!!

I see that there no debate, so, go for the A-Pig!

Thank you again!

Of the pickups mentioned I have a Miracle Man in an alder strat, which I like very much, and an A-Bomb, but that is not in an alder bodied guitar so I cannot give a direct comparison. No experience with the Warpig so far.

The strat I have the Miracle Man in is a rather dark sounding one, so that would not be a prime candidate for a Warpig.  But then, dark is not the attribute that is regularly associated with alder.
