I got given a bass guitar today!
Yes, its made by Stagg......but it was free!
Had a little play on it already, with old strings on it still feels pretty good, needs a good polish but all the electrics work and it seems to hold tune ok. One issue is looking down on it from a playing position, the strings seem to ever so slightly bow towards the pickups (convex/concave shape? i can never remember). This is a truss rod issue right? seeing as its only for experimenting with i might have a go at fixing this. Also the intonation needs looking at. Still only slight problems so far. The paintwork is unblemished and it even had the scratchplate cover plastic on it still when i got it today. Any recommendations what I can do with it, which arent expensive, besides trading it in for a better one  ?

Feck me, that's a large photo!
I had a dead cheap bass, but I got rid of it - really wish I hadn't. Even though it was cheap and cr@p, it was still a bass.

Can't help with the string issue, but cool guitar, and free isn't too shabby either

If the fretboard is concave you need to tighten the truss-rod IIRC.
Good score - as MrBump says, a bass is a bass, and you can't argue with that! Useful thing :)
