Title: Which pickup for my 25th anniversary S?
Post by: BWofDOOM on October 04, 2012, 12:24:58 AM
I need some help. I recently purchased this guitar:

http://www.ibanez.com/ElectricGuitars/model-S1XXV

I was wondering what color pickup covers would best match the hardware of this Ibby? I was thinking of a standard chrome cover but I just can't decide which cover is the best match for that dark silvery finished hardware that comes with this axe. I could always just buy a set with black covers I guess. I would really appreciate any feedback.

P.S. I'm definitely going for a covered set of Aftermaths. METAL!!!

Whoops! Meant to make the subject line read "Which pickup cover for my 25th anniversary S?" Perhaps this is in the wrong place as well? Sorry, if so!

Personally I would stick to black open pole. An alternative would be black battle worn.

Hmmm...I think I'm going to go for the black covers. I own another, older Ibanez that has a purple flake finish and I've got a yellow and a green set of dimarzios loaded in that one. I like the colorful/over the top thing but want this guitar to be different. To be classy and to have that late 80s extravagance about it all at once, if that makes any sense. So the black covers are for me I think.

Making that decision leads me to another couple questions. How does one order a set of covered aftermaths with a black no holes cover? Also, does anyone know how not having holes for the pole pieces affects the tone, if it does at all? Thanks!
