Hey guys! I have a noob question.
I happend to come across a second hand MQ bridge position pick up while I was looking for a replacemente for my neck pick up. I have an agathis body Squier 72 custom telecaster and I think that maybe it would benefit from the hotter output (and maybe brighter tone)of the bridge version of the MQ rather than neck one.
Is too crazy to put a bridge position pick up in the neck? Would it require impossible routing? Am i mixing things here?
And yes, I know, BKP in a Squier with an agathis body? Well, I have to say it is a surprisingly good sounding guitar, improving this guitar pickups its way cheaper than buying a mexican or american one with probably equally lousy pick ups...but anyway, im on a budget so thats out of the picture.
Thank you very much for your help! Hopefully I can contribute somehow to the forum now that i finally joined. :D
Cheers!

I would say give it a try and see how you like it!
It won't need "impossible routing", assuming your guitar is already routed for a neck humbucker.
One thing, though - the bridge MQ won't sound brighter than the neck model would, in fact the hotter wind will make it sound a little darker. For that reason, many bridge pickups would sound muddy in the neck position, but I don't think that will be a problem with a P-90 like the MQ.
Welcome to the forum, by the way! :D

Try it! I'm interested to see what happens.

Try it out and tell us how you like it :D
I have only tried a Stormy Monday bridge in the neck position of my LP clone and it didn't really cut it.

Hey thanks for the suggestions guys!
Especially thanks Philly Q for I didn't know about the hotter output making the sound less trebly.
Look what I found on youtube!

This guy put a MQ bridge on his tele neck (he did so unintentionally, and later changed it to bridge position)
How do you find the sound on this one? To me it sounds pretty good, maybe it could use a little bit more treble? I would use a 500k pot anyway, it should be bright enough for a p90 right?
Im not used to high end pick ups like this ones, so maybe it ought sound better? I would be wasting the potential of the pick up this way?
Any thoughts are appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance!

500k pots will be great for p90. They work great with my mq's.
