Hi Guys, I aquired a Guitar with a BK Zebra Humbucker in the Bridge Position and I am trying to identify it.
It measures 6.92 Kohms so I am thinking its actually a neck pick up possibly a Stormy Monday or Mule. Any ideas please ? Many Thanks. Nik

Very hard to say - Stormy Monday is the most likely I guess, but many of the neck models are only 7 point something.
Is it definitely a Bare Knuckle (does it have the logo engraved on the back)?

Cannot understand why BK doesn't engrave the pickup type under the baseplate.
I now have several and am thinking of swapping few around. What would happen if i got them mixed up.

Yes, it does have the BK Engraved Baseplate !

Well, I'm sticking with Stormy Monday neck, I guess.
But you can't really get any further than that without dismantling the pickup to identify the wire and magnet.

Thanks Philly Q.................Backs up what I thought, will stick it in a Les Paul and see what is sounds like !!
Cheers. Nik

No matter what it is, I bet it'll sound killer!

Going by DC resistance only just narrows the potential models. The only way to be sure would be to ship it to BKP for examination - probably not worth the cost. I would try it in the neck spot of a guitar - if it sounds fine there keep it there.
Have fun and cheers

The type of magnet could / should reveal itself by the bass response ( depending on how firm or spongy the guitar's intrinsic tone is of course ). Also the character of the very top end . If AII Stormy, they will be clear enough, but relatively 'soft' - and if moving up to a Mule, tight enough to Riff- yet still warm. AV and the VHII / Riff Raff category, tight'n'bright e.t.c. :)
