So after reading some articles on the Seymour Duncan Blog and a lot of peoples topics here on the forum about swapping magnets, I wondered íf I could do it myself. Thinking about putting the ceramic magnet I have in a Duncan Invader (don't use the pickup anyway) into my Duncan Jeff Beck. Would this work out? I know magnet sizes differ and the Invader has a trio of ceramic bars, so my question would be if the big one in the middle would be able to replace the Alnico V in the JB.
Cheers

The only way to know is to take the tape off of them and look at the respective magnets to see if they're the same width and height

Let the experiment beginn :D

A JB with a ceramic magnet is 'more or less' a Duncan distortion.
Alot of people on the Duncan board like an A8 mag in a JB.

Yes - both use AWG42 polysol
Duncan Custom varieties uses AWG43 - Not sure if Polysol or Plain Enamel

Amazing what a difference a magnet swap makes - the Custom, Custom Custom and Custom 5 are all basically the same pickup (with Ceramic, AII and AV respectively) but they sound completely different.
And I suppose you could do the same with anything, although it wouldn't always "work".

I already read somewhere before that a JB with a Ceramic Mag is a Duncan Distortion. How much would an Alnico 8 Mag cost?
