Need some help,  I've got a USA Warlock from either the late 80's or early 90's.  I put a Miracle Man in the bridge and it sounds a a little dull, now I have a MM in a Chravel and it sounds super, so I'm guessing the body has quite a bit to do with it.  Any suggestions which might better suit this guitar.  I do not know what wood the guitar is other that the neck is Rosewood and it's a bolt on.  I play a musical style mixing which draws some influence from Type-O-Negative/Metallica/Fear Factory/Sepultura.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check the wiring. Is the soldering good? If it's got 4 condutor wiring, there's a chance you might have reversed some wires. Your guitar is probably Mahogany with a maple neck. The MM is made for that so it shouldn't sound dull at all. If it's not the wiring, there might be something wrong with the pickup.

btw, do you have any pics of the guitar?

No pics I'm afraid and the pick up was installed professionally, I guess compared to the Chravel which has a mid range boost, it may sound a bit off.  Will test the pu in another guitar to see if it is at fault

There's no fault in the pickup it's just accentuating the natural response of the guitar.At a guess I'd say a Cold Sweat would open it up nicely, similar power from the ceramic magnet but lighter wind for more highs.

The PU is fine, cheers for the advice about a Cold Sweat, how do you think VHII will sit in there.
