I currently have a set of warpigs (A5Neck/Ceramic Br) in an Ibanez RGA42. I was thinking of getting myself a ESP Standard Viper. http://www.espguitars.com/guitars/esp-standard/viper.html (http://www.espguitars.com/guitars/esp-standard/viper.html)
I already have an EMG 81 in a Jackson RR24 and the warpigs sound a lot better, so if I get the ESP I want to move the Warpigs to that guitar to replace the EMGs.
My question is basically are the Warpigs going to be suited to the ESP Viper. Has anybody had any experience with this combo? (I'm thinking Warpigs in a Mahogany SG shaped guitar are going to be pretty badass)

I had a esp viper standard as my main guitar for a couple of years, and though i never tried any bkps in it i can tell you its a pretty bright guitar, brighter than most sg's, so warpigs would probably suit it well.

It may be SG shaped, but they're much more substantial. I had a C-Pig bridge and Mississippipig neck in my first, which I personally liked... But no one else did :( Had the doomy thing nailed, but was *really* bottom heavy. The next had a Miracle Man bridge and Cold Sweat neck. Which still sounded huge, but tightened things up nicely. Definitely my preferred Viper combo. It had a VHII in it when I sold it which reduced the hugeness, leaned much more towards bright side of things and added a tonne of bite.

Good to know some alternative options. Its a doomy thing I'm looking for so that sounds good. Will probably be tuned to C-standard.

I'd be a little worried about the bottom being too much with lower tunings and the Pigs, even the ceramic. Then again, as you already have them, it'll cost you nowt to try it ;) So give it a go. Personally I'd go MM/CS.

The Miracle Man worked great in my SG, when it was used as my "metal" guitar.

Actually if you're fancying a Viper for modding, the white LTD 400 (old all mahogany one with black hardware/Earvana) in seconds out is worth a go for very little wonga. It was certainly in good nick two owners ago when it was mine (though it had different pups in then).

Kinda got my heart set on the ESP. Got a bit of cash put by for a 'posh' guitar lol.

I have MM in old white Viper 400 and it's perfect match...A have also C pig in other alder Viper with excelent result as well...I haven't tried C pig in mahogany yet but it has good amount of low end even in alder maple wood combo so I can imagine it could be bit muddy in mahogany...

Well it's in a mahogany body with a maple/rosewood bolt on neck at present and the bass is not an issue.
Anyway, I haven't got the new guitar yet so I will just have to try not to get too excited yet. :D

So in that case I would go for C pig or you can ask Tim if he can make for you custom overwound MM...

It says on the Tyger covers thread that they are available for all humbuckers. Does that mean you can get Miracle Man sets that look like warpigs (with the big bolts)?
-
You can ask for it, but I'm not sure you can get the big bolts, as I understand they do impact on the sound.
