While discussing the topic of the new site design, I think it would be great to have a section that actually shows the process of making a pickup, perhaps with some short vids. Many boutique manufacturers have content like this, and for geeks like me, it's most informative.
So, how about it?

Great idea!
-
T'would indeed be interesting.
-
Indeed! Itd be very cool to watch the process I reckon.
-
I'm all for it. Wouldn't it be nice if BKP had a webcam in the shop as well? So we can all spy on them.
-
That would be cool actually. It would be awesome if they could set up some system where a few pictures or a short video were taken of every pickup they make, so you could see how your pickups were made, but that's probably asking a bit much. Maybe for custom made ones?

They're ALL custom made.
That's asking way too much, imo, unless the pups go up to 500 pounds each!

:D Great idea Ben !! +1
:D 8)
PS how`s about showing us how to wire P/U`s as well ?
I`ve seen the SD site were all you see is some old man leaning into an open guitar talking, but it`s not actually showing you anything [ yes i no who "he" is ]
How about a clearly seeable open backed demo from Tim himself ? how `bout it Tim............

They are? I didn't give them any details when I ordered mine, plus I ordered them the 29th of january and they have a january serial number... You're right, though, it is asking far too much.

at least a few factory pictures would be cool for sure.

They are not all custom made, but the majority are made to order, sometimes we will have some stock of a few models, but not often.

Interesting. What is the difference between custom-made and made-to-order?
-

Custom made is when a pickup is made differently to the standard template; say adding/subtracting more winds, altering magnets. We do this occasionally, but it is usually for independent luthier Like Organic, Morgan or Nathan Shepard guitars who want a pickup that will be unique for a particular range of guitar.
We usually make pickups to order, so when someone orders a Mule or an Apache set, it is wound for them and not just picked up from the shelf and shipped to the destination.
Hope this clears things up!
