Hi chaps! I'm new to the BKP and I'm considering getting an Alnico Warpig for my upcoming 7 string guitar.
The cleans of the alnico WP's just blew me away and they're just in the right zone with the tone (it rhymes!) I'm looking for. I'm switching from agressive ear-busting music to jazzy clean uhhh...cleans music and I was wondering if the pickups will suit the guitar's specifications.
I'm going to get an Ibanez RGA-7
- Mahogany body
- 5 pc Maple/Walnut/Rosewood neck (I think)
- Fixed Bridge
- Bolt on neck
I'm going to set it up with gauge 11 strings (Elixirs to be exact) in standard tuning, as well.
All inputs are welcome and thanks in advance! :harp:

What style of music do you play?

Mostly ranging from modern metal then switching to 90s alternative then to some jazz improvisations then to some 80s metal.
Overall, you can say pretty much anything.

Thanks mehn! AFAIK that AWPs or the WPs work good with Mahogany bodies. Just want to have that confirmation or assurance.

1st : Welcome Eros ! :D
2: Absolutely velvety and Gorgeous for Jazzy cleans ! I use them for Chord Melody ( currently in a solid body, but they have been in an ES-175 copy ). I am only hesitant to mention that fact, because I'd not want B.K.P. to lose trade because folks might think they are therefore a 'polite' pickup. They are lovely, but somewhat like a huge, fat , responsive engine that I only drive in 1st gear ... I left a soundclip of 'Funny Valentine' in the Players section some time ago. I still love them ! :D
They may be "The Road Less Travelled " for Chord Melody, but are much more flexible than the casual browser might imagine. In a Jazz Club, they would be the main act AND the bouncer on the door ! 8)
( I have them in a Mahogany Body / Maple cap / Mahogany neck / Rosewood fingerboard Ibanez AR 250 just now )

Nice! Your guitar specs are almost the same as mine so it seems that I'll be saving up for one then. I like to prove other people wrong about BKPs. People from where I am tend to think that BKPs are just another metal pickup but aftering the demos of the Alnicos on the cleans, I can say it's pretty much versatile but on the brutal side.
Will be getting a calibrated set by next year when I get my first 7 string
