Hi guys,
this is a follow up post after the MM i ordered for my other jackson. The MM smokes and eats EMG for breakfast
I will do a honest review here about the NB and how it works wih th RR1. The RR1 guitar is a tricky pony with pickups. It's a little bit thin with the combination of alder wings, maple neck and ebony fretboard. it's a bright sounding guitar just like Randy liked.

Great - I just bought an RR3 and was planning at least one NB for it :D, I'm looking forward to your review

I have an ESP SV Standard, rhoads as well, Nailbomb works great. I can really nail that CoB tone.

I have a rack which contains:
Korg DTR-1000 tuner
Peavey Rockmaster tube preamp (4x 12ax7!)
Korg DL8000r delay
VHT 2/90/2 poweramp
and
Bogner Überschall cab (2x V30, 2x G12T-75)
Miles of headroom with the vht and no farting with the bogner cab. Me and my band are recording a new demo, it'll take about few weeks to mix and master it, you can really hear how nice lead sound the peavey has (and nailbomb of course!), I'll post some songs when it's ready.

Awesome, looking forward to the clips!
Out of subject but what kind of tubes do you have?
I have tried many tubes through the years and i bought my first set of JJ tubes a couple of years ago and they sound sizzling amazing!. A tip check with Bob at eurotubes and just try one in the Peavey the Phase inverter tube and you will have the big grin on tour face!. Order them from eurotubes.com
I have Electroharmonix 5660 power tubes and 6 JJ12AX7 tubes

When I bought the rockmaster (used), it had JJs but I needed a bit more so I replaced them with Tung-Sols, what was rock became heavy metal. Great articulation and very musical.
The VHT has stock KT-88s.
-
What colour/ finish did you go for i'm pretty much set on the nail bomb for my ESP RV, i'm just not sure on the finish, i'll probably go with the uncovered since it will match in with the duncan jazz thats in the neck.

Ok never tried them but i will. One thing is that.... when i buy JJ´s from Bob they sound much better then in the local shop. Expecially the PI tube it sounds so huge and crunchy, sizzling just like it should.
BTW the NB is in the house in two days :P
Cool pictures of the guitar Neemo, nechthru vs rules. ll post some of my gits aswell in short with the pickups in

Neemo, do you post on the ESP message board? I'm sure i've seen those pics before... :?:

I bought a black, covered, plain NB with the 52 mm spacing. I was worried to take it plain because i have always had matt covers. I haven't recieved it yet but the MM pickup looks awesome.
Cover the Duncan jazz and order a covered NB !?

I've seen the same kind of stuff on www.guitargeek.com but i'm not sure what everyone's using to produce it, hmmm

Got the nailbomb today, it sounds awesome! I'll try to get some clips done tomorrow.

Hi,
I finally recieved the NB today and i will leave it to my tech tomorrow. A black, plain and covered in a box with framous 010-046 strings.
The thing is that the strings are awesome!. In short when i have played a couple of days i will do a review here and compare it with the MM i have in my other guitar.

try n get a pic sorted :P ...im eager to see some colour options...im unsure what colour nailbomb to put in the bridge of my guitar
-
Here you have one!
Here is the first Jackson DA photo. I will post a another photo in short. The Bareknucklepickup, plain covers are shiny but in a better way, more towards the matt looking fits the guitar perfect. The neck pickup is a Alnico 2 pickup and sounds ok but nothing more. The Bill Lawrence L500 i have in the neck of the RR1 sounds so much better.
This is my fave guitar. Some hate it some love it just like it should be :)

NB to my tech today :P
-
Somewhat between a SG, Explorer and a RR1
/E
-
:o thats awesome!
-
Wow - thats a strange shape but quite cool though
-
So i finally got the Nailbomb installed in my RR1 !
A great alround pickup was my first impression. Compared to the MM the NB has a better clean tone and the mids are some tighter, rounder...somewhat
A huge, chick, creamy, full comp, lead tone. A little bit Backedoff gain from the MM but just alittle. You can do just everything from "Sultans of Swing " with Dire Straits to "I am the Black Wizards" with Emperor
Compared to the Dimarzio Megadrive this is a huge upgrade. And the combination with the neck pickup Bill Lawrence L500 it's perfect.
And it even looks good
Photo in short

That black cover looks totally different to mine. Mine are more matte.. but still have a sort of shine to them, but not as glossy as those. Looks pretty cool though!

Ok, the neck pickup is not a BKP pickup if you mean that one?... the bridge is a normal NB plain, covered pickup and is more matt then the neckpickup. Both my pickups NB & MM looks exactely the same.
Can i see a photo of your pickup?
