Cheers guys
so I'm going to be the guitar tech for a band called Thiary, good friends of mine and amazing musicians and as such I'd like to promote them a bit, or better said I need your opinions. This little instrumental is a preview of their upcoming Album:

Right now they are using EMGs, however as a BKP user and heavy forum reader I have already suggested them Knuckles to them, haha :D
Tell me what you think and what could be improved, would appreciate it!
Cheers

Thats was extremely good :D
Loved it when they suddenly broke into that heavy riffing - the tapping along with the "chug chug wub wub djentugwub" was awesome.
I do think that the soloing could have resolved itself more often though. It was out of place for too long without any resolve.

Haven't been able to listen to the clip but congratulations on your new job. Are you going to be touring ?
-
Indeed, congrats. If I knew more about the technical side of the guitar I'd be a tech in a heartbeat. Seems like an awesome job to have!

Cheers guys!
Since their last show where everything what possibly could go wrong went wrong, I'm their tech. It was pretty awful to see them having problems on stage due to lacking maintenance of a guitar, especially since they were filming the performance for a video and are usually tight like hell.
Seems like my obsession and hobby for guitars comes in here handy and I'm pretty astonished that the luthier the singer brought his guitar to to maintain it actually screwed the wiring up, so the signal was fading away every 2 seconds + a string broke on his second axe and we all know what $%&#ers Floyds are regarding string breakage and tuning.
As said there's an album coming out soon and no touring at the moment planned as far as I know, even if it was the case I'd only have time during summer when I don't need to study for university. :P
So I'll be doing the setups, wiring, maintenance and so on.
Talking about BKPs I've been thinking about Blackhawks for the singer (he loves his EMGs and plays mostly rythm) and Painkiller or Aftermaths for the lead guitarist for a good cut, they are tuned to Standard A sharp (yes you read that right) so low as hell, however those PUs should stay clear and defined.
Again, suggestions are appreciated! :)

Wrong place for that, but I won't tell 8)

Trim the strings. ;) Dangly strings from headstocks is one of my pet hates.
-
Sounds great, genuinely - would love to hear more of that band. Keep us updated on tour dates.

In regard to the clip.... not my thing at all. Sorry
-
Are they prepared to follow (and pay for) your advice on replacement pickups ?
-
@juansolo: not my fault, the time the clip was shot I wasn't in charge yet :P
@HTH: will do, cheers! :)
@richard: yes they are. The singer has been complaining about the compression and the lack of clarity with his Emgs, and we all know how to cure that ;)

Indeed!
As for the band, they sound wicked! Looking forward to hearing more. :)

My vote would be 18V mod for the EMG guitar (worked for me, and they do work good with low tunings) and indeed Aftermath or Painkiller for the lead guitarist. I always liked the Painkiller demos more.

Interesting form of metalstyle but, almost all new metal guitarsound is boring,
no personality in the sound at all.
Back in the old school days, you hear direct who the guitarist where by the sound..

I hope you get them to BKP the hell out of all their guitars, to me EMG's are a bit sterile and flat sounding but it still sounds good, congratulations on the job
