Has anyone ever tried just using a Mississippi Queen in a V?
I had the idea for a Ash V and using an MQ bridge as the lone pickup.
I suppose I could just use a Mule/Emerald/Stormy Monday if need be but I have this crippling curiosity that a MQ might be pretty decent.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I have no experience with V's, but the MQ performs very well in ash and a lot of other timbers. Cleans up good too, and has enough muscle and beef thanks to the big coil.

I don't really know about the ash factor, but nothing wrong with a P-90 in a V - you're basically turning it into a Junior!

P90's in ash tele's kill. Ash has some percussiviness to my ears, but if you have good timbers, also good mids and bass. I have an ash strat and swampashstrat which have a full midrange (for a strat), especially the swampash one. The P90 adds mids too that.

Yup, that is the plan :P . I've just never had any experience with the MQ pickups to know if the bridge is fine on it's own [as the V in question is bridge only]. I can't see why not but I've heard crazier things. I play mostly Rock so I would think the bridge MQ would be good clean and though gain.
