Title: Mother's milk questions

Hello folks.
I'm looking for new pickups for my strat. Having listened all the sound samples, I think mother's milk is my favorite.
My guitar is relatively middy/dull sounding, so I hope the MM can bring some chime/quack.
My question is, does the MM neck/mid balance well with a hot bridge single coil (7.3k)?
I have my favorite bridge pickup I'd like to keep. It's fairly dark sounding, very humbucker-ish when I use distortion.
Is BKP single coils always sold as a set? Or available as individual piece?
Do they come with RWRP middle as standard?

BKP are available as individual piece too and you can choose RWRP or non-RWRP on middle pickup.

Is that unplugged or ? Because, as good as BKPs are, they can only pick what the guitar produces...

I swapped pickguard with my friend, and they sounded less chimey in my guitar. However, so far I have only tried overwound pickups. (fralin blues special, suhr ml standard).
Maybe vintage pickups like the mother's milk is what I'm looking for.

Thanks. Based from BKP youtube demo, I think I prefer the sound of non-RWRP.

I don't know how much this helps, but I put MM middle and neck pickups in a TV Master build with a TV Jones PowerTron (7.8K) in the bridge. There is a bit of a drop in output but not so much: I find it very usable. In terms of tone this guitar body has a bit more mass than a Strat just because of the size so it might give you a bit of an insight into what MMs do in a non-featherlight Strat body.

That sounds really great - all pickups. But I guess there's a lot of midrange coming from your amp set up.

A fair bit but I have a Strat with Apaches in it and the difference is striking even with the same amp settings.

Mother's Milk definitely have the quack. They are woody and sparkly. Genuine early sixties Fender-tones.

man, thanks for the video..! Actually I was curious to know if the MM sounds good with overdrive. Sounds great in your video. How's the notch position with clean tone, does it do hendrix stuff well?
Also, has anyone compared the MM to fralin vintage hots' ? I hear some clips and they sound pretty good.

I think the clean tones do a very decent Hendrix tone in the in between position. I have never tried the Lollars so I can't offer an opinion on that 'm afraid. If you have a rosewood board I think MM's do a great job.

The MM's do Hendrix for sure. The best part of the set is imho the neckpickup.
