Now, I don't buy guitars very often, as many of the regulars here might know.
And I really don't like PRS guitars.
Sheesh...

Guitar Village is a killer!
So, it's a PRS NF3, plain korina body. It's easily the nicest guitar I played there. I was looking for something P90 or mini humbucker-ish, and this was perfect. I checked out the Mira too - which I loved, but it was too close to my Yam SG sonically. Lovely guitar though.
Also played some Taylor solids, which I wanted to love, but next to the NF3 they were nothing, and almost the same price.
The vid isn't that great, it's on a mobile, and the pickups were adjusted far too close to the strings. Going to take some time to get them optimal I think.
It's a lot of money to drop on a guitar, but it seems to be worth it - I've not heard anything like it. It really almost does the true Strat thing, and the pickups are meaty enough to crunch, with a nice sharpness to them.
Maybe I should throw a sicky tomorrow..?

Great score and choice! NFs are great, I liked them in the Swamp Ash Special I used to have - I'm just not a Strat man though.
Good to see another PRS convert ;)

Very nice - those notes are jumping off the fretboard so clearly! Sounds like you had a good day at GV!
EDIT - just looked it up on the GV website. A pretty good discount thrown in too!

Lovely instrument and it does sound great in the video, no mush at all.
-
Congrats! Sounds great clean and dirty.

Unfortunately YouTube is $%&#ing up on my computer as usual, but in the few seconds I saw it looked and sounded great! Nice acquisition! :D Can we have some pictures?
I've been quite tempted to get an NF3 when they've been on special offer, but managed to resist.

very nice indeed.

Nice! Looks like a real versatile beast, it's always cool when something you wouldn't normally go for surprises you and follows you home

love it. sounds awesome.
I love the bolt on neck PRS models and I like the less fancy finishes. Not so much into deep figuring and blingy hardware on some, which put me off for years. I guess you could say I like the ones that look like workhorses only that implies they may not look that nice... but they still look awesome to me. First PRS' i liked the look of were the Miras.

Congrats!

Here you are, PQ - some rubbish happy snaps from my phone.
I don't think that you would like it - it's really heavy, way heavier than the others that I tried.

Congrats, I love the NF3. It looks really good in korina, and sounds pretty damn good as well!
-
Nice :D

That guitar looks amazing!

I'm surprised, korina is usually pretty light! My korina McCarty and Mira were both about 7 pounds.
Thanks for the pictures though! :D

very nice :D

Couldn't resist an update.

Better quality audio, Shure SM57 into a half decent sound card.
I'm getting used to it now - best way of thinking of it is as a really meaty strat.
Marvelous!

Sounds nice, a tad dry in some positions, but maybe it's bec I only here mono (just the left speaker).

Was that a bit of Nik Kershaw around the six minute mark? :P

I love a bit of Nik, me. The Riddle and Human Racing are two of my favorite albums of all time.
