Hey all,
I play in a 'straight forward' grooving Death Metal band with a B.C. Rich Beast bronze series (with the cr@ppy standard BC Rich pickups) through an ENGL Powerball.
A continuing problem is the amount of feedback (squealing sound) my guitar produces. I've tried all the usual shitee like tuning the volume and gain down, noise compressors and the noise gate of the Powerball, but nothing works.
A friend recommended getting different pickups since that could solve the problem.
So after some research I came across Bare Knuckles!
And here I am, standing in all my noobness to ask you for advice for the best Bare Knuckle pickup for Death Metal which also could fix my feedback problem!
Thanks in advance,
David

If the pickups is well done, feedback isn't a problem. Any potted BK pickups don't give you this problem. ;)

BKP's are dead silent, at least mine are.
For death metal I was thinking the Aftermath will suit your guitar.

they need wax potting from the sounds of it, it usually gets rid of most squealing. I think BKP offer a this service for much less cost than getting new pickups...
-
Definitely pot them.
-
to be honest, my first holy diver squealed a lot with some amps and the booster on
I always use a noise gate, so that didn't bother me
anyway, I'd pick the alnico nailbomb for your guitar and amp
-
Thank you guys for your swift responses!
I will definitely look into wax potting them:) Never heard of that before.
But as far as the pickups go, in case the waxing doesn't do the trick I was thinking of getting the ceramic Warpig, but you guys mention the alnico Nailbomb and the Aftermath. Could you guys maybe clarify the reason of getting those instead of the C Warpig?
-
Aftermath is supertight, has good midrange en I reckon it not be to edgy for your guitar.
A Warpig is a good option too, but different voiced.

alnico nailbomb is known for sounding good in most woods
it's a big sounding pickup with lots of edge for death metal
and it sounds really good through engl amps
I was going to suggest the aftermath and a second option, but that's if you prefer an even edgier and more abrasive sound, with less compression and a bit more articulation and aggression (which the nailbomb does not lack at all)
