Who's side are you on?

Trick question. Lombardo IS Slayer.
-
I didn't realise they were at loggerheads. In my world he had only "recently" rejoined the band (I guess it was about 10 years ago.... )
-
From what I've read, you'd find it difficult to disagree with Lombardo's actions.
I do love old Slayer, but personally I liked the direction they took after he'd left and really enjoyed Paul Bostaph's work with them - God Hates Us All is my fave Slayer record tied with Reign In Blood.

I'm not a huge Slayer fan but I tend to agree with you, which kinda makes me question their decision. Couple it with the fact that Hanneman is still out and I'm certainly not interested in the current band. Not a big advocate of KK in the first place.

If they still have Gary Holt filling in they are better off than with Hanneman. Holt is a far superior player with a far better tone.
However as Dmoney said. Lombardo is Slayer. Or at least the only member that's interesting and impressive.

Same here. You may know more about this than I but it sounds as if he is pretty clear about being in the right.

I kinda liked Hanneman :(

Don't get me wrong here. Hanneman isn't a bad player or anything he's just not as tight or interesting as Holt. Now if they got rid of King and Hanneman returned and they kept Holt and got Lombardo back now that would be an interesting lineup!

I always liked Jeff Hanneman too - he is part of the Slayer sound. Neither him or KK are technically perfect, but thats the dynamic and what makes the band what it is.

I'd go see that band!
