Just wondering if anyone has ever used the SD Jazz model in the bridge - I've got an old one sitting here which I could just slap in the guitar, but its always cool to hear other people's experiences.

they're meant to be quite bright aren't they? i always wanted to try one in the neck..
(no help at all!)

Long, long ago I had a Jazz in the neck position of a Hamer Vector (with a JB in the bridge position). It could give some fairly nice clean sounds, but basically I hated it - too bright, too thin and really, really weak with distortion.
I never, to be fair, actually tried it in the bridge position, but for my taste I think it would be awful.

42.5 gauge polysol wire, alnico 5, symmetrical coils
Can work ok - if you've got the pickup there a half hour with a soldering iron will answer the important questions in a way that is definitive for you
I'd rather have a CS neck, black dog or a Rebel yell neck (all have the 42.5 gauge and A5 , but with differences )

Thanks for the replies, I thought it was a long shot - will just put it in the guitar and see.
Its for my Les Paul which last night came back from semi-retirement after about 6 months (finally got that roller-bridge to fit and it works great with the Bigsby B7 - way better than a normal Tune-o-matic).

What type of roller bridge is it? I have a Schaller one and a TonePros, I have plans (i.e. it'll never happen  ) to use one of them with a Bigsby B5 on my Epi LP Special.

It was an Allparts one, same as Gretsch use - got it off eBay for about £45 shipped.

Ah yes, I know the one you mean.
