Title: Does anyone else smell a scam?
Post by: IbbySabre on March 06, 2013, 08:56:28 PM
I came across this, and surely it's not genuine?

Of course it's a scam. A good rule to go by, especially on the Internet, is that if it seems to good to be true then it is.

I've been following the site a while now, but it seems to still be there. How do these people get away with it?

Yeah a few mates have got that; especially on Facebook. It's a bit weird though as I first found the Ad on FB

Also, pretty sure that logo is a rip-off of someone else's. Can't remember who it might be though, off the top of my head, but defo seen that logo before somewhere.  :?

I'm in for the "Custom Shop CS-356 with Bisgby, Faded Chlectric Guirarerry"!

$504 with free shipping, and they've got 4 in stock.

What could possibly go wrong?

So - an actual point of sale site selling dodgy rip off merchandise, rather than a phishing site?

Almost worth dropping £300 to see what they're like!

Well in that case, I have some real Gibsons for £299... You'll like them!

Note to dodgy site: when writing your own fake reviews, you might want to make a couple of them a it different from the previous ones. Simply changing the sentence arrangement does not produce realistic results.

I looked at some of the close up pictures. The Precision bass headstock shape looked iffy to me. Found the same on one of the es Pauls- the volute on the back of the neck looked asymmetrical. Not definative and could be a trick of the light....but then again maybe not.
