Title: new geetar
Post by: tewboss on March 01, 2006, 11:11:09 PM
my new gordon smith arrived today with Miracle Man pickups. its a really nice instrument to play and definitely a step-up from my Korean PRS. i'm amazed at the amount of gain the MM's generate despite me only using the amp (a JCM800) without my usual pedals. the only problem is that I've scratched it already *sobs*

Yeeehaw Tewboss. That rocks. How does she feel? Colour? woods? finish? PICTURES? CLIPS?
Don't worry about the scratch - it all adds character. Enjoy.

I dented the neck in my brand new custom today  :(   It's all banter - guitars should be like trainers, you're only going to keep them in perfect condition if you walk funny and dodge puddles...guitars, man, they're meant to be bashed around and played! At least this way, you've already got it's first dent out of the way and can now relax and get playing!

Any photo's? I'm always intrigued by Gordon Smiths - although I'm not 'tailing' one    - how's the quality on it?

from what has been a very horrible day (didn't get a job I went for and cat died), this has been the only good thing:

The lacquer is satin, so isn't that thick (hence the scratch). there is the odd mark, but its a player's guitar and am very happy with it.

I am sorry to hear about your cat. I know how it feels to lose one. Hopefully you will get a good job but playing that guitar should help heal those blues.

thanks, she was 16 so reached a nice old age. she had a tumour so I didn't want her quality of life to suffer (my mum thought she had got worse since she saw her last).

:D That looks really really good, i`m very intrigued by Gordon Smith guitars, when you`ve played it in a while post some clips .

Sorry to hear about your cat. It`s allways a bummer loosing family members, i happen to agree that pets are better than people in most cases.

the basic guitar was just over £700 plus the cost of the Miracle Man set. now i've got to improve enough to justify buying it he he!

thanks about my cat. my friend rescued her a year or so ago from an alcoholic who had killed his deceased wife's other cat. despite being deaf i think she was quite an active cat for her age and would chase much bigger cats off.
