Hi guys,
I'm looking for something like that Supro Steel pickup sound or DeArmond Goldfoils for a Stratotone build which I'm planning to have my friend's luthier do. I'm not sure if their sound is even achievable with P90's or it's a fool's errand but who knows, maybe one of Tim's pickups will work.
This is some of the sounds I'm trying to have:

Thanks in advance. :)

I would pick Bluenotes for those tones.

Oh my god!!! I'm falling in love with the guitar in the first video. Is it possible to obtain this sound with "normal" guitar? What is the scale of this guitar?

Thanks, that's actually the top candidate right now for me. It seems alnico 2 will get that smoky/rounded off effect.

This is where you can find the specs: http://rebel-guitars.com/island-instrument-forty-four-lo-frills/ (http://rebel-guitars.com/island-instrument-forty-four-lo-frills/)
I have been wanting to have a Stratotone H44 clone for a long time now but I've read mixed reviews on those Eastwood versions and Harmony reissues. Island intrument's take on it have improved the things I don't like on the original(trapeze tailpiece and pickguard, no trussrod) but the price is too steep.

Thanks my friend! So with Les Paul type guitar and that pickup I can go close to this sound...

According to looking around the net, the DeArmond Goldfoils were wound at around 7k - 10k ohms wound with 43AWG wire (so that actually puts you in Supermassive spec territory) but with either an A2 magnet or a rubber magnet of the sort used by Lace sensors - so I would say Bluenote is probably the nearest.
