Cool! looks really good! Have you tested it?
-
Should sound stellar, looks cool too.
-
Unfortunately, I won't get to play it in anger until the weekend!
-
Those are some nice speakers. Congrats!
-
Are these the speakers to have for metal?

I would say no, unless you consider Hendrix or Tommy Bolin type tones as metal...
-
Just put in an hour w the speaker, my '62 reissue Strat, AnalogMan SunFace and Beano Boost. Sounds fantastic!
-
That looks great (according to Jane only a geek could like the look of a speaker). She clearly has no idea.
I've been umming and aaahing about a change in speaker lately. I've currently got a Jensen Neo speaker in my cab. Nice and light but doesn't sound as 'full' as I'd like it to. I'm just too lazy to do anything about it at the moment.
Would be good to hear some clips of yours Ben.
-
I will have clips real soon; nothing fancy but you will get the gist. It's really fantastic if you're going after a vintage sound.
-
Here ya go!
Quick clip:
Strat bridge (no fx)
Strat middle (no fx)
Strat neck (no fx)
Solo section: left guitar is Strat bridge, right guitar is strat pickup position 2 (bridge/middle) w the Analogman Sunface, lead guitar is Tele thinline bridge w the AnalogMan Beano Boost

Very nice vintage tone there. Obviously, being that way inclined, I am biased but that is amongst the best tone I have heard in a while. 8)

That thinking ounces great! Nice and vintagey. What model is it and is it stock?

Weber speakers are generally 'stock with options', though they also offer custom speakers as well.
This is a 12A125A (https://taweber.powweb.com/weber/12a125a.htm) model. I chose the white basket, medium doping, and 30W options.

Cheers Ben! Auto correct appears have spun its dastardly web and confused the question. What I was wanting to type was:
"That Thinline sounds great. What model is it and is it stock"
Thanks for the info on the speaker though. :D

Lovely tone there- they sound great.

HA!
These dang modern contrivances ... :)
It's a '72 reissue, bone stock.

That does look very nice indeed. Ive always wanted a thinline. The '72 is the nicest looking one IMO.

Agreed.
I was also looking at 335-style guitars but they are just too big for me (I'm not a very tall/big person). The Thinline not only looks great, it has the sound I was after and weighs next to nothing for transporting round the city!
-
Really nice vintagey tones in the clip.
-
Yeah! It's perfectly vintage like. I suppose a bit of work also went into the mic positioning? I'd never imagined you could get something like that with an up close sm57
-
Thanks!
I do not agonize over mic placement, actually.
If I don't like the sound I move it or swap mics. I don't take any special note of it, either.
I am more careful when multi-mic'ing, due to phase issues.

awesome
I have a pair of weber made scumback h75 speakers: 30w, 50 oz magnet, 75 hz cone, kapton voice coil (vintage celestion g12h clones)
I also have a pair of brazilian mg music black dogs, also made with weber parts: 50w, 40 oz magnet, 75 hz kurt muller cone, paper voice coil (close specs to the weber silver bell, I think)
I'd love to try their thames, 1225 and 30v models

I went the Scumback route a while ago; great speaker, but not for me.
