Title: Stockholm HSS in a Yamaha Pacifica
Post by: Distorion on April 03, 2013, 03:36:05 PM
Hello.
I have a Yamaha Pacifica 311H... and I figured I want to switch to better pickups (not like the stock ones suck, but... yeah... could be better)

So I was wondering if having Stockholm HSS in such alder guitar would work, because I really love the tone in the soundclips and I play mostly different kinds of rock (Muse (more of the Origin of Symmetry, Absolution era), ACDC, The Raconteurs, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Lenny Kravitz, Kings of Leon, Jimi Hendrix etc. etc.)
Also, the description says that those nickel covers reduce noise... I was wondering how much exactly? Are they as silent as a Humbucker or somewhat between humbucker and a typical single coil or even louder? I mostly use overdrive and sometimes fuzz so having noise could be a problem for me.

Edit: Also, how well do they clean up?

P90's are singlecoils, so you will have some, but I must say that the BKP-sc's I have are quiet compared to a lot of other brands.
The Stockholm will certainly beef up your Yahama and I think it will perform very well in an alder bolt on-guitar.
I don't know how much noisereduction covers provide, you could ask the BKP-team about that.
I have covered Mules in a bolt-on and the covers normally take away some topend, but BKP compensates that with some extra winds.
