Title: worst solos ever?
Post by: monkeywalker on March 03, 2006, 12:26:34 PM
i'm not sure if we've had this one before, i'm quite unobservant so forgive me if it's already here somewhere.

anyway in my opinion the worst solos ever include;

in bloom by nirvana, what the hell was that about.....drugs i imagine. come to think of it, most of cobains solos weren'texactly awe inspiring.

purple haze....lets be honest guys as much as people may like this song it had a truely awful solo. i still love it though

freewheel burning by judas priest. i think the guitarist must have been ignoring the music around him and just played whatever he felt like.

anything by bullet for my valentine. Every solo that i've heard them play has sounded pretty much the same

I dont like the solo on Bob Marleys "No Woman no Cry" - the one on the recording I've heard was just bad, but the live one I've heard is amazing  :? Also - BLS, In This River (I think thats what it's called), the solo sounds so out of place to me.

I think a lot of what Yngwie does in the jam on the G3 dvd is quite bad - seems to be just playing fast for the sake of it.

This thread is one of the first signs in the decline of a forum.
Don't you people have anything helpful to say?! It's incredibly easy to knock down other players.

Anyone with a computer now feels they have the right to be sole critic and arbitrary voice doling out some of the worst 'advice' and 'insight' I've ever seen.

Threads like 'Embarrasing Guitar Heroes' and 'Worst Solos' don't do anyone any good.

I've read a lot of misinformation on this forum, but this thread takes the cake.

Think TO is dead right "ala Nickelback" debate, whom I am listening to right this minute!

EVERY single person has somthing individual to say.
We ALL like different things.

For a musician to have published work it means many people believed and liked them, which speaks for itself.

I always wondered why people knocked Status Quo calling them "3 chord wonders". Well so what, they sold buckets of records and became UK icons for all perceptions. They even OPENED the orig. Live Aid.

I have spent ALOT of time trolling Tabs for things to play/practice along with my lesson plans. I was amazed how simple (not saying simple to play but simple writing) was out there. But then I am looking at popular/recogniseable songs (if ever do covers). Simple=Catchy=Foot Tapping.

It don't matter people. Music is music, don't like it? Switch it OFF :)
