Title: Pickup Combination chambered Les Paul like guitar
Post by: farin_u on April 23, 2013, 02:32:29 PM
hi,

I want to buy a custom les paulish guitar for my musicstyle.
I can choose anything but im gonna order a guitar with maghony corpus and rosewood fingerboard. (from guitar maker)
The guitar will be chambered to get it lighter.
The guitar should be versatile. Most times i play hard-rock like alter bridge, seether staind;
My first guitar is a Gibson Studio satin ebony with 498T 490R and 300k potis (which many people critisize to reduces highs pretty much)
The sound of it is not quite good compared to other guitars in the same price range.
I use a Kemper and 2xQSC K12 for playing. It has many really good functions but i dont get that sound i want with my guitar.
So im selling my old guitar to afford the new one. Im thinking about getting a painkiller (with split-option) in bridge and a P90 in the neck, but i dont know which one....any suggestions?

the miracle man works really well for heavier modern rock stuff
bet the ceramic nailbomb would work well too

How would Black Hawks sound in a Chambered 1997 Les Paul DC Studio?? I'm about to do the conversion...

I was going to suggest Miracle Man bridge with Cold Sweat neck but I'm thinking a Miracle Man/Painkiller combo would work well for this.

I have painkilers in my Nighthawk, and they are awesome.  I have blackhawks in my SG, but I definitely prefer painkillers in any gibson style guitar for metal.
