sorry about the subject i created on worst solos, i really didn't mean to offend anyone or come across as arrogant and nasty about other players work.i obviously upset some people so i'm sorry, i don't want you all to think i'm an ass hole, i had no idea it would be such an issue.
i'd also like to point out just for the record that i wasn't being derogatory to the players i mentioned and those particular songs are all songs that i really like, which is why i know them so wel.
sorry again guys

if I were you I wouldn't be apologising, to be honest. Threads about music you like are fine, and if there's music that you like then there's obviously going to be music you don't like. There's nothing wrong with that.
Besides, if people get offended it's their own fault for having bad taste

ooooooo lol genocidal.... i reckon thats probly what monkey was thinking but he did the curtious thing of being polite and apologising.... thats probly exactly what i would have done and then just cursed everyone 'under my breath' as it were.
-
Posts like that are fine, no one was taking it too seriously... well almost :) Are we supposed to pretend that bad solos, songs, or stage clothes don't exist. C'mon gimme a break. And this forum, unlike others, doesn't degenerate to the point of name calling and insults. As long as it's in good fun no harm, no foul. And just for the record DLR looked ridiculous in the Yankee Rose video, and any guitar solo by Cold Fusion sucks.

lol... i dunno... a few weeks ago i would have been exactly like you bird and genocidal... but ive been tamed slightly since then....

If you can't make fun of men in spandex what's next
-
haha... yer your right dude.... we should be allowed to express our opinions on here (as long as theyre not alll out offensive).
also, when people say its wrong to be criticising people over the internet because we feel all powerful- surely by saying that those people are doing the very thing they are against- criticising someone/thing over the web...

Easy Bird - some of us were there in the glam rock heyday of the early to mid 80s and did look like Motley Crue/Ratt wannabes - still have the pix to prove it
It was very of it's time - as were checked shirts/combat trousers and wallet chains....and dont get me started on EMO kids
All a matter of perspective - I think all the Dimebag and Zakk wannabes look sad but that is my opinion and I am SO entitled to it (What is it with the having a hamster on your chin look ???!!!)
All a matter of perspective!!

Oh I've been there as well. I was your typical headbanger back in the 80's. I've had a few perms and used my share of hairspray
-
:D Tell me about it !!!!
Those were the days when i had a waist line !
I had a Black on White Snake skin motive set of Trousers/Jeans. A bright blue ripped T- Shirt with a red string T-Shirt/Vest over the top of it, A bullet belt & a pair of White Boots with Skull & Cross Bone buckles !!! No perm though, As it looked really stupid on me, mind you wearing that lot i`m surprised it matered !!!

LOL!!
Am I the only one here who never wore the stuff? I feel so clean . . . :harp:

I was (just) too young to really catch the hair-metal thing - I was just a jeans & t-shirt kid so I escaped :D
I did fall victim to the grunge craze at college - we're talking long scraggy hair (which I'd had since 14 anyway), lumberjack shirts and Converse baseball shoes (or Doc Martins in the winter). Those long green army jackets were also all the rage (oh the shame!)
-
Feline's generation wore spandex, my generation had mullets lumberjack shirts and PLO shawls. It was cool at the time. Looking back it's rediculous.
10 years from now you'll see pictures of yourselves and think 'what were we thinking wearing that?'
-
haha - i bet i'm still wearing the exact same thing, if i'm anything like my dad,
-
All the "scene" kids are going to be so embarassed, as they don't look like the Misfits (who I will gladly state for the record weren't that good) as they like to think. I just looked like I wanted to be in Pearl Jam or Soundgarden back in 92/93.

I think you should post some of those pics Feline!!

i don't think i'll be bothered about what i look like when i look back in a few years,i'm only 17 and i just wear what's comfy.
like you said tewboss all the scene kids will wonder what the hell they were thinking in ten years time. there's loads of them at my college, it's quite funny.
