Cheers guys,
so I decided to finally do a group pic of my favourite axes... hope you enjoy! :)
From left to right:
1964 Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass
This is the famous "Beatles Bass" popularized by Paul McCartney. My Grandfather gave it to me after he stopped playing. He's been using the instrument for years and as a musician he earned enough money with it to build the house I spent my youth in. As you can imagine, this instrument holds a lot of sentimental value to it, however it's not in a good condition right now. The neck has started to detach itself from the body (the glue of the neck joint failing and giving in to string tension after all the years) and as soon as I have some money aside I'm going to get it repaired. Needless to say that I'm looking forward to the day I can finally play it properly. :D
1993 Jackson Fusion Pro H-H
Got this guitar not too long ago, absolutely amazing instrument, was pretty much a steal. Currently loaded with a Painkiller and a Coldsweat, sounds amazing. More details in my NGD Thread: https://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=28857.msg376294#msg376294
2010 Neubauer Guitars "Carpe Noctem" Custom Strat
This is my absolute workhorse guitar, no matter if it's used for practice or live performances, goes from sweet blues to bonecrushing metal and has a certain "mojo", or rather a part of my soul in it. (cheesy yeah I know ^^)
Got this as a present from my father for my 18th birthday, has an 30 year old air dried Hungarian Poplar Body and the Neck and the Fretboard are made out of 40 year old air dried Canadian Maple. Currently loaded with a Holydiver in the Bridge and Slowhands in Middle and Neck positions, I rewired it with Fender 500k CTS Pots, a BKP Paper in Oil Cap and removed the second Tone Knob to move the Volume farther away from the Bridge. Has "Carpe Noctem" written on the headstock on my request since when I spec-ed it out I used to spent my nights learning for school. Love it!
1962 Framus 5/132 Hollywood
Same thing with this baby like with the Höfner Bass. Got this from my grandfather after it's been in use for years. Has a really lovely sound, great for everything from clean to blues. Not sure about the pickups, might be Single Coils, but the Bridge has a certain bite to it, so I guess it might as well be something P-90esque. The Frets are pretty worn, so I will need to get that sorted out, but other than that it plays great.
Those are my absolute babys, hope you like them!
Cheers!

Really varied favourites you have there but all are awesome. Love the Framus to bits.

Mhhh nice stuff. Lucky you got one of those Höfner basses. My father has one too and they are lovely instruments. Maybe I´ll inherit it some day in the hopefully very distant future. Would only need one PU rewound as there is a new one in there now.
The other are nice too, especially the custom of course.

Very cool. Gotta get those old axes fixed so they can live on. 8)

I'd really love to give this old Framus a try 8)

Great collection. I do hope you get the bass restored to playable condition.

I like the two oldies. :D
Your bass is the same age as me.... I'm getting a bit creaky around the neck joint too.

Right now the whole "I got so many necks under my bed"-thing got a new, sick twist for me.

I like the Framus. How does it sound?

Cheers guys, glad you like em! :)
Telerocker: to describe the sound of the Framus, that's pretty hard since you have plenty of switching options. I usually play on maximum 2 pickups, so having 3 pickups with the option of selecting every single one alone or the bridge and the neck together + a Treble Cut, a Bass Cut, a Treble Boost/Bass Cut and a Treble Boost/Bass Boost is giving you a wide range of sounds. Not even talking about the Volume Pot you can roll off. I'd say you can go from beatifully pearly cleans, over smooth jazzy or bluesy tones to honest Classic Rock to lighter Hard Rock. I even once used it live with my ex metal band and with plenty of gain from the amp it did get me through the gig (that's why I think the pickups are rather something like p-90s than singlecoils). It's somewhere between a Les Paul and a Strat with a bit of a Tele in it, but neither. Hard to describe. As said, I mainly use it for either clean stuff or lightly overdriven Blues :)
The Framus Vintage Museum doesn't offer to much information unfortunately:
