Sad news. One of the first 'old' bands I got into:

I hadn't heard about this, quite shocked. I have to admit I'm not really a fan, but they're one of those bands I've heard and read so much about, over 30-odd years.
As we've said on similar threads, it seems like a lot of that '60s/'70s generation of musicians are popping their clogs nowadays. It feels like the end of an era. I'd be very surprised if many of today's music stars are even remembered at all by the time they're in their old age.

Agreed Philly. I was shocked to hear this too. Just thinking back to when I first started getting into them, I was about 15 so he would have been around 50/51. It's quite a sobering thought as it doesn't seem that long ago that I became interested in their music.

Sad- the Doors were one of those iconic bands though I can't say I am a massive fan.

it is sad to see that generation of musical icons gradually disappear. But that's time for you, and the music they made will live on for a very long time to come.
I think LA Woman will get a spin tonight
