I've just heard on the radio that Trevor Bolder has died.
He'll go down in history for being a member of the Spiders from Mars, but personally I'll always remember seeing him with Uriah Heep at Swansea Brangwyn Hall in 1980, one of the very first gigs I ever went to. I was only a little kid really but I remember being hugely impressed by his playing and by his lead vocal on one of the songs. And his facial hair!
I never really became a huge Heep fan, but I've always had a soft spot for them and I've never forgotten that gig.
God, yet another one passes away! :(
RIP

Yep, I've just heard this too. I remeber the early David Bowie albums and his inventiveness. Sad as he ought to have had a bit longer.

Yes, i saw a post from Rotosound about this on facebook this morning. Like you Philly, I've always had a soft spot for Uriah Heep without ever being a proper fan. There does seem to have been a lot of deaths in the recent past, and its sad to see yet another of our valued musicians go relatively young.
And yes, he did have epic facial hair! :)
